{Thinking Out Loud Thursdays} Things I’m loving lately

Happy almost Friday!

I usually like to save Thursdays for deep, well-thought-out and researched blog posts about health, wellness, fitness, mindfulness and nutrition… but this week all my brain capacity has been sucked up at work on a big project that has me feeling like I’m back in Uni writing a year-end term paper, only this time it’s actually important and effects people’s work. SO, that said, here’s a collection of things on my mind or that I’ve discovered over the past few weeks and love.

Thursdays are for Thinking Out Loud, after all, so here we go!

The Katering Show
I saw one of their videos pop up in my Facebook feed a few weeks ago and have now watched them all. HILARITY. I love the deadpan, awkward humour of these two women. I especially love We Quit Sugar and Ethical Eating. And for all you moms out there, you have to watch the Yummy Mummies episode (be warned, if you get grossed out easily you probably shouldn’t watch it):

Make sure you read the pop-up tips at the bottom (Fun Fact: Parsnips are the ghosts of carrots.)

The FitBit Charge 2
I love my FitBit Charge HR for indoor workouts, the silent alarm and everyday tracking (even though it’s slightly off in distance for runs and I still need to use a Garmin), so I’m seriously considering getting the FitBit Charge 2. The new FitBit Charge has interchangeable bands, a bigger screen (but not too big) and guided breathing sessions, as well as a new cardio tracking function. I also tried out their new Adventures function the other day, which lets you start a challenge to hike somewhere for a certain distance and alerts you when there are sights to see along the way. It’s super neat and a great motivator to get in those steps!

If Girls Ran The World Challenge
This October, the #sweatpink community is taking on a big, inspiring, community-powered goal that we want you to join us for: we’re collectively running around the world (that’s 24,901 miles — or 39,842 kilometres — which is equal so the circumference of the Earth) to empower girls and women. We can’t imagine a better way to combine what we believe in most — fitness and #girlpower — than the If Girls Ran the World event. Studies show that when women are supported and empowered, all of society benefits. So please join me in running miles and raising funds for female-focused charities! The event kicks off on October 1, so please visit my donation page and support the cause if you can!

Kashi Fire Roasted Vegetable Gourmet Snack Crackers
Have you tried these?? I’m obsessed with them and they keep going on sale at Save On Foods so I feel the need to keep stocking up. They’re like Vegetable Thins, but a bit spicier and way tastier (and healthier for you!). Pro tip: They go really well with a nice Pinot Grigio.

What activity /GPS tracker do you currently use?
Will you be getting the new FitBit?
Have you tried those Kashi crackers?
What are your favourite healthy cracker-type snacks?
